Fianna Fail tent snapped up

FIANNA Fáil’s decision to abandon its fundraising tent at the Galway Races this summer will have no impact on the Racecourse Committee’s revenue – less than 24 hours after Taoiseach Brian Cowen made the announcement another company had snapped up the party’s Ballybrit slot.
Mr. Cowen told members of the Fianna Fáil national executive on Thursday night that he intended to order a full review of the party’s organisation and fundraising – starting with pulling the plug on the Galway Races fundraising tent.
However, by half eight on Friday morning a high-profile company had contacted the Race Committee and agreed to take-over the fundraising tent for three of the four main days that Fianna Fáil was normally there, according to Ray Rooney Chairman of the Galway Race Committee.
