FIANNA FAIL MEET OVER O’ CUIV RESIGNATION

Galway West TD Eamon Ó ‘Cuív says he will still attend the Fianna Fail Ard Fheis this weekend at the RDS in Dublin.

Micheal Martin met with the Fianna Fail parliamentary party last night after the departure of Ó ‘Cuív as his deputy leader.

He stepped down after saying he couldn’t guarantee to support the party’s stance on the upcoming fiscal treaty referendum.

Eamon Ó’Cuív could even face expulsion from Fianna Fail if he votes against the treaty in the Dail.

The EU treaty referendum has split the party – with TDs angry over Eamon Ó’Cuív’s decision to make it an issue.
