FIANNA FAIL IN WEST TO MEET OVER SHANNON DECISION
Date Published: 05-Sep-2007
Fianna Fail Councillors from all over the West and further afield, will hold a meeting in Oranmore tomorrow night [Thurs 6th] about the Aer Lingus decision to end its Shannon to Heathrow link.
There is concern that Fianna Fail councillors may pay the price at the next local election for the loss of the Heathrow link.
It has also emerged that many Fianna Fail councillors are angry with Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Minister Eamonn O Cuiv saying they got the impression he was on their side when they met in Shannon but that he supported the Governments stance in a later interview.
