FEARS OF OVERCROWDING BY CARS ON ARAN ISLAND

There are concerns that there could be too much traffic on the roads of the largest of the Aran Islands if a roll on/roll off type ferryboat is brought into operation.

There have been calls for many years for the roll on/roll of service that would carry goods and vehicles in a convenient way.

But there is a proposal now that Galway County Council should study the possible effects of a roll on/roll off service on the island.
