Localised areas of the city could be hit by flooding again over the next twenty four hours.

The City Council has issued a high tide alert for today (Sun) and tomorrow (Monday morning).

But the Council says it’s not expected that we’ll see flooding like that experienced last month.

The main areas which could be affected are Spanish Arch in the city and Toft carpark in Salthill.

The high risk tides will be 5.55 this evening and 6am tomorrow, Monday morning.

Gary McMahon from Galway City Council says people should put in flood defences but that it won’t be as bad as in the recent past.
