FEARS OF FLOODING IN GALWAY

PRECAUTIONS are being taken by the City Council in case of flood damage in a number of areas of the city and Salthill tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon and evening.
The Council has advised that due to an expected combination of Spring Tides, high winds and low pressure until Tuesday, some localised flooding may occur in a number of areas.
The worst of the weekend’s weather is forecast to coincide with High Tide this Sunday afternoon at approximatley 5.30.
As well as locations in the Spanish Arch, Docks and Raven Terrace areas of the City Centre, flooding may also occur along the Promenade in Salthill.
Director of Services with the city council,Ciaran Hayes says precautions are being take in many areas.
