FEARS NEW CANCER CENTRE WILL COMPROMISE ALL PATIENTS

Councillors from across the North West say they fear University Hospital Galway is not fit to become a cancer centre of excellence, and care for all patients will be compromised.

From January, UHG is to become a cancer control centre for the entire Northwest region.

Addressing last evening’s Regional Health Forum meeting in Merlin Park, councillors expressed concern about the services being moved from Sligo and Mayo, to Galway.
