FARMERS TO HELP KEEP GALWAY MOVING DURING BAD WEATHER

Farmers across Galway may soon be enlisted to help keep rural parts of the county moving during severe weather conditions.

The IFA is drawing up a national action plan, with farmers on standby with machinery to salt and grit roads that can not be reached otherwise.

The current cold snap has left many motorists and pedestrians frustrated as the local council is unable to treat many minor and secondary roads in Galway.
