Several farmers in the Ballinasloe area may take legal action claiming they’ve been unable to get to their land for several months.

This, they say, is because of construction work on the new N6 Ballinasloe to Galway road.

It’s claimed, the foundation of the new road, which bisects a right-of-way to forty acres of land, is so high that animals and vehicles cannot gain access to the other side.

As a result, the farmers in the Poolboy area close to the River Suck cannot take stock to their lands, manure them or cut silage.
