Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway farmers are gathering in the city this afternoon in protest over cattle and sheep prices.
The demonstration is led by the Irish Farmers Association and gets underway at Dunnes Stores in Terryland around now (3pm).
The IFA says drop-down prices being offered at the county’s marts must also be passed on by all large retailers directly to the consumer.
Maura Canning is IFA Farm Family Committee Chairperson and says the current pricing system is unfair.
