FALL-OUT AFTER PLANNING DEPT FAILS TO ATTEND MEETING WITH DOUGHISKA RESIDENTS
Date Published: 05-Nov-2012
Galway City Council’s planning department says it has no difficulty in meeting with Doughiska residents over future plans to take local estates in charge.
It follows concerns raised by local Cllr Nuala Nolan who has hit out at planning officials for failing to attend a meeting on Friday.
The meeting was held in City Hall to discuss estate management at Fearainn Ri and Fionn Uisce.
The Director of Services for Transport and Infrasturcture and members of his staff attended the meeting with residents associations, and a spokeperson for the City Council says the primary focus was on issues surrounding transport.
The spokesperson adds that the planning department has met with residents previously and couldn’t attend on Friday due to unforeseen circumstances.
However Cllr Nolan says questions cannot be answered satisfactorily without representation from the planning department.
