FALL IN PROFITS AT CITY FIRM GOODMAN MEDICAL

City-based medical firm Goodman Medical has reported a fall in pre-tax profits of sixty four per cent.

The company which was founded in Japan in 1975 has a Galway base in Mervue Business Park since 2004.

The Irish Times reports that Goodman Medical sustained the drop after revenue declined from 9.2 million to 8.1 million euro between 2010 and 2011.

Goodman Medical Ireland Ltd was established in Galway in 2004 for the manufacture and development of Cardiovascular Catheters.

In 2010 the firm announced the creation of 115 new jobs as part of a 1.1 million euro investment.
