Extra time sought for Kilconly retail development
Galway Bay fm newsroom – County planners are due to make a decision this week on an application requesting more time to build a new public house with restaurant and off-licence in Kilconly.
Martin Blake is asking the County Council for an extra five years to complete the development in the townland of Ballynagittagh.
The plan involves the demolition of an existing public house and out buildings to make way for the construction of a 2 storey block with public house and restaurant.
It also includes the construction of two new retail units, 3 apartments and 6 three bed town houses at the site in Kilconly village.
Permission for the development which has not yet begun has now lapsed, but applicant Martin Blake is seeking an extra five years to complete the project.
The application states the proposed date of commencement is March 2014 and is expected to be completed in March 2017.
