Exhibition celebrates local neighbourhood

An exhibition of work by local artist Melanie McDonagh’s exhibition entitled Drawings of Nile Lodge opens this Thursday in Murray’s Coffee Shop, 1 Nile Lodge, Lower Salthill.

The theme is Neighbourhood and the show features drawings, watercolours and prints of buildings in the local area.

“I was inspired by Murray’s Coffee Show, which is a place where people can gather and offers a hub for the community. I have lived in the area for quite a while, and have always appreciated its beauty and history, but now through the process of drawing outside I am meeting neighbours. I am seeing the area a new light. It has been a great experience,” says Melanie.

The exhibition will run until December 10.
