Aer Arann is insisting that customers at Galway Airport and other airports will not be affected by the fact that an examiner’s been appointed to the company.

The High Court has appointed Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton to implement a restructuring plan at the Galway-based airline, which is owned by Pádraig Ó Céidigh.

It’s suffered 18 million euro in losses since 2008, and was badly hit by the volcanic ash crisis.
