An interim examiner has been appointed to an oil distribution firm owned by Galway businessman, John Sweeney.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers has appointed the examiner to Fate Park after the company ran into financial difficulty.

According to today’s Irish Times, Fate Park was orginally set up as a joint venture with Statoil, but John Sweeney took over the whole company in 2007.

An investor is now being sought for the company to ensure it can continue as a going concern.
