EURO DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIP FOR GALWAY

Galway will welcome over 600 debaters this weekend as the European Universities Debating Championships get underway.

Over 140 institutions from across Europe, Qatar, Russia and Israel will arrive in the city tomorrow [sun aug 7] to attend the opening ceremony.

The week long event is hosted by NUI Galway with debates focusing on economic policy, international relations and philosophy.
