EU FISHERIES DELEGATION TO VISIT ORANMORE MARINE INSTITUTE

A high-level delegation from the European Parliament’s fisheries committee is to visit the Marine Institute in Oranmore on Thursday (Feb 14).

The group will meet with key figures in the Irish seafood sector.

The high level delegation will include MEPs Jim Higgins and Pat the Cope Gallagher, Gabriel Mato – MEP from Spain and Ulrike Rodust, an MEP from Germany.

The visit comes as the European Parliament in Strasbourg has concluded its deliberations on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy.

It is due to enter into trialogue negotiations with the European Fisheries Ministers and the European Commission in early March.
