EU COURT OF JUSTICE TO DELIVER OPINION ON CITY OUTER BYPASS

The EU court of Justice Advocat general will deliver an opinion on the outer city bypass case later this month.

The case was heard by a panel of judges at the Court of European Union in September, and involved submissions from other EU countries including Greece.

It will see the European court rule on the interpretation of conservation areas under the European council’s habitats directive.

The Advocat general will give her reasoned opinion on the case on the 22nd of this month.

Galway West TD Deputy Sean Kyne says the court of Justice is not bound by this legal opinion but will take it on board when determining an outcome on the case.
