EU COMMISSIONER PROMOTES GALWAY/CHINA RESEARCH LINKS

EU commissioner Maire Geoghegan-Quinn is aiming to create further Chinese and Galway research opportunities during her time in China.

The Galway native Commissioner for research, innovation and science has been briefing EU researchers, and directors of European research organisations in Beijing.

Maire Geoghegan-Quinn has also highlighted an important NUI Galway led EU and China cancer research project during her visit.

The international team is working on a blood test for cancer which could be done without the need for a biopsy.
