ESB restores power to West Galway following lightning strike
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Electricity supply has been restored to some 15 thousand homes in the west of the county following earlier lightning strikes.
ESB Networks has repaired the main transmission line in Connemara following emergency works.
Crews also worked to restore supply to some 80 households in the Kinvara and Kiltartan areas.
Over 100 customers are without power in the Craughwell and Creagh areas this evening and crews are working on the faults.
A team of engineers has also been flown to the Aran Island of Inis Mor where 40 homes were without electricity supply this morning.
Valencia Coastguard, along with Shannon Coastguard helicopter helped to dispatch the ESB crew to the island.
