Environmental statement complete on new Galway Docks

A planning application for the development of Galway Docks is expected to be submitted to An Bord Pleanála in June.

A Natura Impact Statement has just been completed and the planning application is in the final stages of completion.

It’s up to An Bord Pleanála to then decide if the project should be considered under the IROPI process.

The 50 million euro plans for Galway Harbour would see it extended to accommodate larger cruise and freight ships.

CEO of Galway Harbour Company, Eamon Bradshaw says the application will soon be ready for submission.
