Representatives of more than 40 businesses turned out for Enterprise Ireland’s recent ‘Get Export Ready’ Workshop in Ballinasloe to hear about the programme of supports aimed at getting more Irish companies exporting.

The workshops are for pre-export and early stage exporting companies, and existing businesses seeking to explore new opportunities in export markets.

“Exporting can be a valuable new source of business for companies with global ambition and we know there are many Irish companies operating successfully in the Irish market who can grow their businesses through finding new customers overseas,” said Barry Egan, Director Enterprise Ireland, West Region.

“I am confident that there is enormous entrepreneurial talent in the West of Ireland business community that can add value to businesses and the creation of jobs through new business from exporting,” he added.

Michael Earls, Managing Director, EASYFIX, Ballinasloe was a key speaker at the event. And he addressed the importance of a strong team when focusing on developing an export business.

“Identifying, developing and retaining good people is critical to future growth. We’ve developed a team, which supports our export business,” he said.

The follow-up event for businesses seriously considering exporting is the Exploring Exporting Workshop on November 23 at the Pillo Maldron Hotel, Galway.

This highly practical one-day workshop will enable participants to investigate the export opportunities for their companies. The workshop will provide a structured approach to identifying, developing and building an effective export strategy for your business.
