EMERGENCY CREWS CONTAIN SPIDDAL GORSE FIRES
Fire crews from the city and county have now contained a number of gorse fires in the Spiddal area.
Three units had been battling a gorse fire at Baile an tSagairt since last evening but have now brought it under control.
A further three units had been attending a gorse fire at Baile An TSléibhe with one crew now closing down the area after controlling the blaze.
Elsewhere in Oranmore, a large gorse fire in the Frenchfort area was brought under control in the early hours of today.
Crews left the area at 4.30 this morning after battling a blaze for some hours since last evening.
