Emergence in Kinvara

A group exhibition, Emergence, will be launched this August Bank Holiday weekend in Kinvara Market Square.

The exhibition will feature the work of ten local emerging artists, all either recent graduates or current students of the BA in Art & Design course in GMIT Galway.

The idea for the exhibition came from local woman Pam Fleming, who graduated from the course this year and who was struck by the number of artists from the area who had passed through the course.

The artists taking part are Marian Coady, Mary Donoghue, Pam Fleming, Kerry Maclure, Julia O’Keeffe, Mary Roberts, Fiona Rooney, Rosaleen Tanham, Patricia Timmons and Brian Twomey. Explorations of local landscape, sea and people connect the work of these painters.

Emergence will open in the Pop-up Gallery, Kinvara Market Square (formerly DIY Pursuits) this Friday at 11am and will continue until Sunday, August 11 from 11am to 7pm

A percentage from the sale of painting will be donated to the RNLI, which is holding its annual Lifeboat Day in Kinvara this Sunday, August 4.
