EDUCATION MINISTER URGES UNIVERSITIES INCLUDING NUIG TO TIGHTEN BELTS

The Minister for Education Batt O’ Keeffe, is calling on third level institutions to stay within their budgets.

His comments come as the Head of NUI Galway called on the Minister to address the issue of student tuition fees.

Dr Jim Browne claims the higher education system is in danger of declining in standards due to a lack of funding.
