Educate Together hopes to set up temporary school in Rahoon
Educate Together has identified a possible location for a temporary school building in the west of the city.
It comes as city planners have approved an application to change the use of Rahoon office space to a national school.
John Feeney applied to temporarily change a section of Brooklawn House in Galway City West Business Park to a national school.
Of the two conditions attached by city planners, one states that permission is restricted to five years.
The Department of Education has identified a need for a national school in the Knocknacarra area and awarded patronage to Educate Together.
A spokesperson for Educate Together says this location may serve as temporary accommodation until the school reaches construction stage.
