Educate Together hopes for more school patronages in Galway

Galway bay fm newsroom -Educate Together is hoping that today’s announcement that its to become the patron for the new 8-classroom primary school due to open in Knocknacarra next year, could lead to more patronages

Minister for Education, Ruairí Quinn announced in 2011 that 20 primary schools were to be established by 2015 in a number of locations to cater for increasing pupil numbers.

In announcing the Knocknacarra school under the patronage of Educate Together, Minister Quinn says he took into account the parental demand for diversity.

Consideration will be given to the establishment of a further 8-classroom school for Knocknacarra in 2015.

This school will be under the patronage of Lifeways Ireland Limited, subject to parental demand to support this model.
