Economic downturn blamed for delay in new East Galway funeral home
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The economic downturn is being blamed for the delay in building a new funeral home in Lawrencetown.
PDJ Construction Limited was previously granted planning permission to demolish a shop, house and sheds to make way for a new shop, creche, funeral home and apartments.
The planning permission has expired and the company is now hoping to have it extended so it can begin work in March next year.
In an application to Galway County Council, the company says the economic downturn is the reason why work has not been completed at the Lawrencetown development.
