East Galway tourism project held up as good practice by Europe

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Three environmental and tourism projects, including one in East Galway, have been cited as good practice examples to regional development agencies from 8 countries across Europe.

Lough Derg, on the River Shannon, which has shores in Galway as well as Clare and Tipperary, has been showcased to officials from regional development agencies from Finland, Slovenia, Latvia, Greece, Romania, Netherlands, UK and Ireland.

The two other projects showcased are the Olatrim river in county Tipperary and Groody River in Limerick

The two-year project is aimed at benefiting partner regions through the transfer of good practices in integrated water and landscape management.
