East Galway thieves target a range of public spaces and events
Gardai are urging the public to be vigilant in securing belonging when parking their cars in public spaces across the county.
It follows a spate of car break-ins in four separate county locations last evening.
FYI Galway reports the Garda warning follows four incidents in the Galway area last evening where valuables were targetted in parked cars.
Two of these involved vehicles parked at GAA pitches in Ballymacward and in Cappataggle.
Another took place outside the church in Kilconieran where a choir practice was being held.
The final incident took place at a public park in Toberroe near Glinsk where a car was parked and broken into.
In one of the cases, a silver car was seen leaving the location at high speed.
Gardai say the culprits are targetting i-phones, cash, handbags, purses and sat nav systems.
They are urging members of the public to secure such valuables and to ensure cars are locked at all times.
