€500,000 winning lottery ticket sold in Galway

A lottery ticket sold in Rahoon has produced a €500,000 winner.

The Lotto Plus 1 prize-winner was sold at Henchy’s Daybreak in Rosán Glas on Friday and was a mixed play ticket (normal play and Quick Pick).

Jason Henchy, said he is confident the prize has been scooped by a local and urged people to check their tickets.

“This is huge for the small community of Rahoon. The store is situated in the heart of a residential area so there’s a real possibility that the winner is from the area.

“There’s already great excitement in the store. We’re putting the call out locally to ask each and every one of our customers to check their tickets carefully with the half-million euro prize on offer. This is our first big lottery win since the store opened in 2005, so we’re going to enjoy the celebrations today and hopefully we’ll get to meet the lucky winner as our customers come to check their tickets,” he said.

The winning Lotto Plus 1 numbers were: 10, 14, 26, 28, 36, 39 and 40

There was no winner of the Saturday’s €4.8 million jackpot. Wednesday’s jackpot is now an estimated €5.5 million.
