Duo return with comic take on classic mystery
They had the full house at Druid Theatre in howls of laughter with their adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles on Saturday night – now Rod Goodall and Steve Johnston are bringing it to the Studio space at the Town Hall Theatre.
The pair, who were original members of Footsbarn Theatre Company, have given Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic novel about a family curse and a supernatural hound a fresh and hilarious spin in this hour-long piece filled with music, drama and comedy.
Kinvara resident Steve played renowned detective Sherlock Holmes while Rod took on all the other characters, including Holmes’s sidekick, Dr Watson. The music and song in the show was composed by both of them and they had terrific technical support from Jason Scott on a variety of strange machines. It was a hoot.
The Hound of the Baskervilles was staged at the monthly Druid Sessions, organised by Ollie Jennings, and its next stop is the Town Hall next Thursday and Friday, October 24 and 25 at 8.30pm nightly.
Admission is €15/12. Tickets online at tht.ie, 091-569777 or at the Box Office.
