Dunnes Stores will celebrate in style this weekend as they unveil their new look state-of-the-art store in Briarhill – with a weekend full of fashion, food, lots of giveaways and fun for all the family.

Lovers of great food and fashion are invited to come along this Saturday and Sunday to experience this exciting and innovative new shopping experience, which has been created in collaboration with some of the leading Irish names in food, fashion, and homeware – all under one roof, and all delivering on the Dunnes Stores award winning promise of better value.

Another big magnet for shoppers to Dunnes Stores Briarhill is the new Food Hall, home to artisan food producers such as Sheridan’s Cheesemongers, which was first established in Galway by Kevin Sheridan; and Dunnes Stores own in house fishmonger, as well as the full range from the multi-award winning Simply Better Collection.

Dunnes Stores Briarhill Manager Paul McGrath said that they had more reason than ever to look forward to this Christmas.

“We are officially Ireland’s number one Food Retailer, and just recently we have been awarded Irish Retailer of the Year,” he said.

“And now with our beautiful new look store in Briarhill – we’re bringing the celebrations to Galway in a big way!”

The weekend celebrations will include very special fashion shows on Saturday, hosted by Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon.

As well as showcasing their own Lennon Courtney collection, which is exclusive to Dunnes Stores, there will be the collections from Dunnes Stores own brands including Gallery and Savida, along with all the other exclusive designer brands.

One of Ireland’s top make up artists, Derrick Carberry will also be in store to meet customers and to provide Styling Sessions for some lucky competition winners.

On Sunday, Ireland’s leading garden designer, Diarmuid Gavin will be in store, running a number of gardening workshops. Also taking to the stage will be Aileen Cox Blundell of Baby Led Feeding fame, with mini workshops on how mums and dads can prepare food that can be enjoyed by the whole family, including baby.

Paul and his team are also organising lots of kid friendly activities throughout the weekend. There are plans for a very special guest, Santa Claus, together with some of his elves, to call in store over the weekend to celebrate with everyone.

For Family Day on Sunday, there will be puppet shows, a Fyffes Banana Colouring Station and a special reading of the Dolls Complaints children’s book.

Throughout the weekend there will also be lots and lots of prizes to be given away at the tills.

More details on the schedule of activities and events for the festive weekend will be announced over the coming week, and these will be available through Facebook and Instagram.
