Duke special set to dazzle in Galway

It’s been an amazing year for Duke Special since he released his debut album last November. A hectic touring schedule and appearances at some of the summer’s biggest festivals has propelled the Downpatrick born singer into the spotlight. Now he is about to embark on solo tour, which will take in an afternoon show in Campbell’s Tavern this Sunday, October 21 and a gig in Róisín Dubh on Monday, October 22. The Róisín gig is
already sold out. Duke’s first album Songs From The Deep Forest has just been re -released on a Special Edition format,which includes the bonus disc Orchestral Manoeuvres In Belfast. His sweeping, dramatic music works well with the Ulster Orchestra but as much, as he’d like to, he can’t envisage bringing the 30 piece on the road with him.
