Druid refurbishment to be finished by Spring

DRUID said this week they expected the refurbishment of their theatre at Chapel Lane would be completed in the Spring.

The company says the work is progressing well – as the building is a protected structure, it has approved a design that not only retains the character of the existing building but also incorporates its original warehouse ambience.

“Despite its shabbiness and challenges since 1979, the building at Chapel Lane has been the centre for all our work whether it ends up performing in the Town Hall, Bohola or Broadway,” said Garry Hynes, Artistic Director.

“It occupies a special place in all our hearts and in that of our audiences. I’m thrilled it’s finally getting this long awaited makeover and I look forward to welcoming audiences back to it next year.”
