Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Ramona Nicholas is set to create 35 new jobs when she opens a new pharmacy in the former HMV premises in Edward Square.

The millionaire businesswoman – who also came to Galway to work with local charitable organisations in the ‘Secret Millionaire’ TV show – will open the new Cara Pharmacy outlet over two floors next month.

“Galway has always been a city very close to our hearts, we have been visiting the city annually since the late 90s and of course I have amazing memories from my experiences there filming ‘The Secret Millionaire’ just a year ago.

“We feel a special connection with Galway and after much searching and thought we are delighted with the premises we will be retailing from.

“We are very excited about this new venture and it marks a new era for Cara Pharmacy with our first store in Galway.

“This is yet a step further in our strategy to become a national brand and will create a further 35 jobs throughout the group including distribution, retail and pharmaceutical.

“This will bring the total employment within the group of a total of 150 employees,” ” she told the Sentinel.
