Draft report on Toghermore residential facility to be shared with staff next month

It’s part of a review of Community Mental Health Services in Galway and Roscommon, focusing on residential care settings and resources.

A decision was made last December to wind down the 18 bed facility after a report revealed fire safety shortfalls.

In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, the HSE says that the group has had to undertake much more extensive research than anticipated as there are 59 residential care settings in the Galway Roscommon Mental Health Services.  
A working draft of the report will be shared with staff at the end of August to ensure their experience and views are incorporated.

A final report with findings and recommendations will be made available to HSE West in Autumn.
