DRAFT CLINICAL REVIEW INTO SAVITA DEATH COMPLETED

The draft of the clinical review into the death of Savita Halappanvar at UHG has been circulated to all medical personnel involved in the case

It will shortly be given to Health Minister James Reilly who this week stated it will be presented to Savita’s husband Praveen before it’s published

31 year old died Savita died at UHG on the 28th October 2012 after suffering a miscarriage and contracting septicaemia.

This week the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health formally wrote to the Health Minister seeking a progress report on the Savita Halappanavar inquiry.

Deputy Denis Naughton raised the matter at today’s meeting with the management of the Galway Roscommon Hospitals Group

He was informed while the final report will be ready before the inquest hearing in early April a decision has yet to be made on whether it will published beforehand
