DPP TO GIVE DIRECTIONS ON ALLEGED CITY ASSAULT IN JULY

A pakistani man will appear before the courts again in July charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a woman in the city earlier this year. The 27 year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Galway District court this week. The alleged sexual assault and false imprisonment of the woman took place in the city on February 11th. The woman alleges that she got into a car with a stranger near the Dyke road carpark at around 3am. She claims she then beaten and sexually assaulted before being released in Doughiska around 7:15am The accused must now appear before the Galway courts again in July for the DPP’s directions on the case.
