Club Scannán Sailearna will screen the documentary Cambodian Spring on Thursday next, October 11, starting at 8.15pm. The documentary, made by Irish film-maker Chris Kelly will be shown in Seanscoil Sailearna, Indreabhán.

Cambodian Spring is an intimate and unique portrait of three people caught up in the chaotic and often violent development that is shaping modern-day Cambodia, as they fight to save their homes from the bulldozers.

Shot over six years, the film charts the growing wave of land-rights protests that led to the ‘Cambodian Spring’ and the tragic events that followed. This documentary is about the complexities – political and personal – of fighting for your beliefs.

This critically acclaimed work has picked up numerous awards on the international film festival circuit already and is a must-see for anybody who believes in the power of protest to rectify society’s wrongs.
