Docs are in the house!

It might have been Galway’s worst-kept secret since they first revealed they were back on the road – but the stage is now set for the Saw Doctors’ glorious homecoming to Tuam this summer.

The band headline the West’s Awake Big Top, in a marquee on the grounds of St. Jarlath’s College on Saturday, August 19 – with tickets on sale from 9am on Friday week.

And the gig squares a circle for the lads – because back on September 7 1991, the Saw Doctors sold out the first ‘West’s Awake’ gig in Tuam Stadium.

It’s also the culmination of their return to the spotlight after a five-year break from touring.

The ‘comeback’ has already seen them play a host of storming gigs in the UK – selling out London Brixton Academy, Manchester Apollo and two concerts at the famous Glasgow Barrowland ballroom.

This summer the Saw Doctors will play Glastonbury, headlining the Acoustic Stage on Friday, June 23, as well as topping the bill at Wickham Festival in Hampshire in August and the Moseley Folk & Arts festival in Birmingham in September.
