DOCKS APPLICATION TO BE SUBMITTED IN EARLY SEPTEMBER

A planning application for a new port for Galway is being finalised and should be submitted to An Bord Pleanála in early September.

The 200 million euro redevelopment of the Docks has been in the pipeline for several years and a public consultation on the plans was held earlier this year.

The new harbour will facilitate the berthing of large cruise liners, boosting the tourism industry in Galway.
