Digital marketing event hots up as deadline looms
Submissions for the 2016 OMiG digital marketing awards have exceeded expectations, and with expert speakers and panel discussions, this year’s award show will be the best yet.
The Online Marketing in Galway (OMiG) awards provides a platform to showcase exceptional work within the Galway digital marketing arena.
Over the next few weeks a panel of thirty industry leading judges will be busy selecting the best in five categories including Best Social Media Campaign, Best Website, Best Blog, Best Digital Start Up and the overall Online Marketing Leadership Award.
The sixth category is the People’s Choice Award which will be voted by the people of Galway. Repeat voting from one person or location is not allowed i.e. one vote per IP address. Cast your vote at www.galwaymarketing.ie/awards/nominees/ before round one closing date, Friday April 8 at 5pm.
The semi-finalists will go live on Monday, April 11 at 8am. People’s Choice voting then goes down to the final ten and voting recommences from Tuesday, April 12 at 5pm to Friday, April 29 via the OMiG website.
The finalists will be published on the website on Monday, May 2 at 8am and the winners for each category will be announced at the Awards Show itself on Tuesday, May 10 at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway.
Along with the awards ceremony there will also be a very special panel discussion, ‘The 360 degrees of marketing’, during which a panel of expert speakers will talk about all the advancements made in marketing, advertising and retailing over the past few years and how in recent times we are witnessing a return to basics.
For example, while online shopping has, and is, growing exponentially online stores such as Amazon are now introducing off-line book stores.
Already confirmed for the panel is David Tighe, Head of Innovation, Bank of Ireland. Two other speakers will be confirmed shortly.
David is one of the main drivers behind BofI’s engagement with start-ups. His expertise includes the areas of financial product management, payments industry trends, digital banking, and financial innovation and technology. He has 15 years of experience in retail banking in Ireland.
The awards are held in partnership with Galway’s Local Enterprise Office and the Connacht Tribune Newspaper Group, while IE Domain Registry is the event’s main sponsor.
Advance booking of tickets is essential. Early bird tickets are priced at just €12.50 and there is a special 3 for 2 working out at €10 each, from www.galwaymarketing.ie/events
