Developer lodges new plans for Knocknacarra building site
The developer of a housing estate under construction in Knocknacarra has drawn up new plans for the site – which include 100 homes, a pub and restaurant, medical centre, coffee shop and convenience store.
Walter King of King Construction is already building 31 houses at the Gleann na Móna estate off Western Distributor Road and Ballymoneen Road roundabout.
The company has now lodged three separate planning applications for three different parts of the site.
These are for the construction of:
■ Two four-storey blocks with a total of 64 apartments and undercroft parking (12 one-beds, 42 two-beds and 10 three-beds) with pedestrian access from the Distributor Road and a three-storey block with 16 duplex units (8 three-bed and 8 one-bed).
■ A three-storey block over undercroft parking with a two-storey restaurant and bar and four apartments at penthouse level. A separate three-storey split-level building with medical centre, pharmacy, convenience store and 11 duplex units with surface parking and new vehicular entrance on the Ballymoneen Road.
■ The demolition of a bungalow and agricultural sheds and construction of five four-bed houses and a 1.8-metre wide footpath on the Ballymoneen Road.
