Dept grants approval for 3 million euro Spiddal sewerage scheme
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Approval has been granted for a 3.6 million sewerage scheme for Spiddal.
The long-awaited project will include a new wastewater treatment plant and associated network improvements.
The Department of the Environment has given the go-ahead under the Water Services Investment Programme.
Minister Phil Hogan says he would like to see the works progressing through to contruction with the minimum of delay.
Local Area Cllr Seosamh O’Laoi told Galway Bay fm news that the investment is vital for the area and will assist efforts to regain ‘blue flag’ status at local beaches.
