Department takes first steps in disposing of Connemara airstrips
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is now taking the preliminary steps in disposing of two airstrips in Connemara.
The strips at Inishbofin and Cleggan were developed at a cost of 10 million euro.
An additional 500 thousand euro is estimated to be required to complete the facilities.
In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, the Department says various alternatives are being considered in conjunction with other stakeholders such as Galway County Council.
