Delphi’s facelift creates 60 jobs

THE luxurious new Delphi Mountain Resort was formally launched last week, the fruits of a two year €10 million investment and development programme initiated by the new owners and managers, headed by Rory Concannon and his wife Aileen.

When the fresh new team took over in 2006, they immediately began a multimillion euro development to upgrade the spa and guest facilities, adding additional luxury accommodation options to the resort.

A major part of the new €10 million development – and something very close to the owners’ hearts – has been the implementation of a thorough environmental management programme, developed in consultation with Mayo County Council and the local community, one of the most significant elements of which was the installation of a water treatment facility which treats and purifies all of the water used in Delphi, returning it to the equivalent standard as drinking water, thus guaranteeing zero environmental impact from the resort on the surrounding groundwater.
