DECISION ON TUAM PITCHES EXPECTED IN NEXT FEW WEEKS

Tuam Area Councillors are awaiting a presentation from a Galway County Council official about the proposed plans for soccer pitches and a skateboard park at the Palace Grounds

There has been some local opposition to the location of the facilities, which was voiced at this week’s meeting of the Town Council

It’s understood, funding of 600 thousand euro allocated for the project would be lost if the plans do not go ahead at the Palace Grounds location

County Councillors from the Tuam area are now awaiting a presentation from Kevin Kelly of Galway County Council on the layout, design and location of the facilities

They will then consider the views of the those opposed to the location and will make a decision on the matter in the next few weeks
