DECISION DUE ON CONTRACTOR TO UPGRADE HISTORIC CITY HOUSE

The preferred tender for a project to upgrade Comerford House in the city is expected to be selected in the next 6 weeks.

Galway City Council says it has received a "good level of interest" after it invited tenders for the upgrade, restoration and extension of the historic building.

The deadline for submissions expired on Friday January 13th.

The protected structure is located at Fishmarket Square, Spanish Arch and is to be converted to an open plan office to accommodate 12 staff.
